Miss Sonnie - Owner/Head Coach

Sonnie started Rocky Rush in January of 2016 after two years of offering recreational cheer classes at a local gymnastics club. Starting with only 5 athletes, she is proud of how far the club has come already!

Originally from Ontario, Sonnie was a long-time dancer and a high school cheerleader then continued on to coach high school cheer in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Once she moved to Rocky Mountain House, she couldn’t wait to introduce the sport!

By day, Sonnie is a Hair Stylist and has her own business, Hair by Sonnie. The time she doesn’t spend doing hair or at the club, she can be found with her dogs Friday, Jack and Bandit! Sonnie has also welcomed two future cheerleaders into the world over the last few years and they are often seen around the gym!

Miss Madi - Coach

First Aid/CPR

Please welcome Miss Madi to the club! This is Madi’s first season with Rocky Rush but she has 15 years experience in cheerleading! After cheering all the way through her youth, she joined a Level 6 World’s team (WOW!) at a competitive cheer gym. Madi went to The Cheerleading Worlds in Florida 3 times with her team before retiring in 2020. Madi is thrilled to be back in the cheer community and can’t wait to share her passion around the gym!

We are so excited for her to be joining the competitive coaching team.

Miss Char - Coach

Miss Char is a long time friend of Miss Sonnie’s but joined the gym when her daughter joined U16 Olympus two years ago. Char stepped up to coach our little U8 team last season and did an incredible job! We are so happy to have her back.

Miss Brittany - Coach

Level 1 Early Childhood Education

Miss Brittany because a big part of our gym when her two daughters joined! She is always helping in every way, including coaching our U6 Rec team!

Miss Jackie - Coach

Miss Jackie is always seen around our gym and is also a huge part of Rocky’s junior football club! She has two daughters on our U12 team which she will be helping coach this season!
